Our Philosophy

History of FrayMUN

The Model of United Nations started as a simulation of the League of Nations, first named International Assembly and was held at Oxford University in the year of 1921. Mir Mahmood, the formal president of this conference, urged with help relayed on Harvard to create the American International Assembly where the students would have the opportunity to represent countries, debate to find solutions and to deal with international disputes in the negotiation tables.

After the Second World War and the foundation of the United Nations, the International Assembly changed to be what know we know as the Model of United Nations.

In May 2019 we had our very first session of FrayMUN organized by sophomore students,  with the participation of high school members and some of the senior year of middle school. There were four committees debating on crucial topics distributed on the General Assembly, Security Council, World Health Organization and UN High Commissioner for Refugees

For this second session of FrayMUN, a new group of sophomore students will be in charge of planning this event for you, having created a 5th committee and making an invitation for other schools to participate the expectations are high, so the FrayMUN team invites you to give your best effort and is looking forward to work with you in future projects.

Philosophy of FrayMUN

We want Fray MUN 2021 to be represented as a life-changing experience where the delegates go above and beyond everything to find the solutions to the enduring issues we are all affected by in a worldwide magnitude.

Responsibility will be taught by being asked to search for information and other documents about their country for their future participation.

Compromise will be set at defending their countries’ position and will be asked to fight for the interests of the presents relaying on the topic.

Democracy is going to rule the sessions every time a motion takes place and when the voting for resolution papers will be held.

Justice is going to be practiced from the first to the last session in the committees to reach out to benefits for everyone involved.
